Careers In Nonprofits has been retained by the Central Connecticut Coast YMCA to lead in the search for their next Executive Director- Alpha Community Services Branch. This is a Full-Time, Hybrid position based in Bridgeport, CT.

The Alpha Community Services Y provides Individual and Family Navigation, Emergency Shelter focused on families, Permanent Supportive Housing, and has been instrumental in creating and sustaining the Bridgeport Housing First Collaborative.

POSITION TITLE: Executive Director- Alpha Community Services Y Branch

SCHEDULE: Full-Time

DURATION: Permanent

SALARY: $100,000- $115,000 

Is This Your Dream Job? The Executive Director is responsible for all aspects of the Alpha Community Services Y branch, including strategic leadership, program operations, fiscal management, and community impact. This includes development and oversight of trauma-informed, equity-centered services addressing homelessness and housing insecurity. The Executive Director will also lead and support the development of an engaged board of managers, annual fundraising efforts, and data informed program improvements.

The position requires a visionary leader who can align community needs with innovative, mission-aligned solutions.

Our Ideal Candidate:

• 5 years’ of leadership experience in the nonprofit social services sector
• Proven ability to lead diverse teams, develop strategic partnerships, and manage complex programs
• Demonstrated success in fundraising, grant writing, and financial oversight including managing government contracts
• Board development experience inclusive of fundraising and advocacy
• Experience with Coordinated Access Network (CAN) and familiarity with Connecticut’s system for addressing homelessness
• Self-directed, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines
• Bachelor’s Degree- Masters Preferred

How You Will Spend Your Day: 

• Provide visionary leadership for programs addressing homelessness and housing insecurity through trauma-informed, person-centered approaches.
• Build and sustain strong partnerships with community organizations, funders, and public agencies to drive systems-level change.
• Oversee all aspects of grant management, fundraising, and budget planning to ensure financial sustainability and mission alignment.
• Lead and develop a high-performing, equity-focused team committed to delivering impactful social services.
• Represent the Y in the community, advocate for underserved populations, and promote the visibility and impact of Alpha Community Services Y.
• Ensure continuous quality improvement through data-driven decision-making and outcome evaluation.
• Champion inclusion and belonging across programs, partnerships, and operations.
• Lead emergency response efforts and ensure continuity of services during crises or critical incidents.
• Other duties as assigned
