We are currently in search of a Director of Philanthropy for Las Trampas School. Las Trampas School provides support and empowers people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is a Permanent, Full-Time, Hybrid opportunity based in Lafayette, CA.

LOCATION: Lafayette, CA- Hybrid

POSITION TITLE: Director of Philanthropy

DURATION: Full Time

SALARY: $115,000- $135,000/annual + Full Benefits

The Director of Philanthropy plays key leadership role in advancing the mission of the organization through strategic collaboration with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and program constituents to create, implement, and manage multi-year fund development and communications plans designed to support near and long-term goals. The Director of Philanthropy reports to the Executive Director and serves on the organization’s Leadership Team, which supports the Executive Director in visioning and executing the overall trajectory of the organization.

  • Initiative-taker and able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree


How You Will Spend Your Day:


Planning

  • Lead development and communications strategy and operations.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive, multi-year major gifts, planned giving, appeals, and institutional giving strategic plan to increase the number of donors and donor retention.
  • Increase awareness of the mission and brand
  • Plan and coordinate all logistics associated with bi-annual fundraising gala and smaller fundraising events.

 

Staff Management

  • Recruit, direct, and supervise development support staff (one full-time Development Manager), volunteers, and consultants to develop and align appropriate fundraising strategies, tactics, and messaging.

 

Leadership

  • Function as an organizational leader and highly collaborative member of the Leadership Team, working closely with the Executive Director and Program Directors to articulate program goals and impact to donors and funders and to create meaningful engagement opportunities.

 

Donor Engagement

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of a comprehensive donor stewardship program that includes regular communication, events, visits, and other tactics to build and deepen relationships and inspire frequent and larger gifts.
  • Manage a portfolio of major donors including multi-year major gifts, planned giving, foundation and corporate giving, and support members of the Board and the Executive Director in managing portfolios.

 

Board Development

  • Work in close partnership with the Executive Director, Board Chair, and Board members to build the Board’s capacity in major donor engagement, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Serve as primary staff to the Board’s External Affairs Committee and all subcommittees.
  • Support with Board and Committee recruitment.


Financial Accountability

  • In partnership with the Director of Business Services, develop and oversee the department budget including fundraising activity plans that maximize participation and/or contributions and minimize expenses.
