Careers In Nonprofits has been retained by the Center for Reproductive Rights to lead in the search for their next Chief Finance Officer.

 

ORGANIZATION: Center for Reproductive Rights

LOCATION: New York City, Financial District- Hybrid (3-days week/in office)

POSITION TITLE: Chief Finance Officer

DURATION: Full Time

SALARY: $325,000- $350,000/annual

 

Is This Your Dream Job? The Chief Finance Officer is responsible for all financial activities for the Center, including: financial strategy, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, general accounting, grant compliance, and reporting. This individual will provide counsel and support to the CSOO and the Board of Directors, including the Finance and Audit Committee on all financial matters. This position reports directly to the Chief Strategy and Operations Officer (CSOO) and is a member of the Center’s Executive Team.


The inaugural Chief Finance Officer will join the Center during a season of expansion, growth, and opportunity, as they embark upon their new strategic plan, and endeavor to protect reproductive rights around the world.



Our Ideal Candidate:

  • 10+ years as a Senior Leader overseeing organizations with multiple locations and international operations, managing diverse revenue streams- Required
  • Expert in accounting processes with the ability to develop and drive strategic initiatives through an accounting perspective
  • 5+ years experience working with executive leaders and boards of directors- Required
  • Proven experience driving and managing organizational change
  • Passion for protecting reproductive rights as fundamental human rights globally
  • CPA- Required

 

How You Will Spend Your Day:

 

Finance Strategy

  • Provides input on long and short-range planning as well as day-to-day management of the organization
  • Establish a financial vision, planning, and forecasting process, to ensure that financial resources are powering the realization of the Center’s mission.
  • On a monthly basis, report the Center’s financials, forecasts, and metrics to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team to generate insights from financial data to support organizational decisions
  • Work closely with senior leaders to prepare presentations to the Board of Directors and Board Committees
  • Oversee and optimize short- and long-term budget planning and cost management in alignment with the strategic plan

 

Finance Infrastructure

  • Design and execute a strategy to ensure the Finance department is equipped with the right systems, structures, people, and partners to effectively deliver on team and organizational goals
  • Ensure financial tools are operationalized to highlight meaningful insights and guide short- and long-term decision-making
  • Ensure successful annual audits and compliance with all required tax forms and state registrations
  • Oversee preparation and submission of timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Provide oversight to grants compliance including budget development, contracting, reporting/monitoring, and grants receivable management
  • Develop and implement risk identification and controls, systems and procedures for effective operations, and timely monitoring and reporting

 

Finance Team Management

  • Supervise and mentor the Controller, Financial Analysis team, and Senior Director Grants & Compliance
  • Provide leadership, training, and support for the department, including directly managing and developing the finance, accounting, and grants compliance, ensuring goals are met.
  • Establish a strong partnership model for how other teams will work with finance to advance the organization’s goals
