We are currently in search of a Digital Communications Coordinator for a Higher Education Center. The position is on-site in New York City. This is a part-time, temporary position.

 

ORGANIZATION TYPE: Higher Education Center

LOCATION: New York City (Upper West Side)

POSITION TITLE: Digital Communications Coordinator

SCHEDULE: Mon, Tues, Wed (~20-24 hours/week)

DURATION: Temporary (2-3 months)

HOURLY RATE: $26.00- $28.00

 

Is This Your Dream Job? The Temporary Digital Communications Coordinator will provide hands-on production support during a staffing transition, helping the organization maintain timely, accurate, and engaging email, website, and social media communications. The organization has established templates, content, design support, and a team member responsible for setting priorities and approving work. We are looking for a reliable digital communications professional who can independently move those materials through production, identify errors, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

 

Our Ideal Candidate:

·       Proven hands-on experience building, testing, scheduling, and sending email campaigns in Mailchimp

·       Experience maintaining website content through a content management system

·       Strong writing, proofreading, organizational, and quality-control skills

·       Experience preparing and publishing social media content

·       Ability to work independently, follow established templates, manage deadlines, and flag questions promptly

·       Familiarity with basic HTML email, WordPress, or Directus is particularly helpful

·       Basic image or video editing skills are a plus

·       Experience with an arts, cultural, academic, or nonprofit organization is welcome

 

How You Will Spend Your Day:

·       Build, test, and schedule weekly and special-purpose emails using Mailchimp and the organization’s WordPress-based email builder

·       Make routine website updates in Directus, including events, news, and homepage content

·       Prepare and publish social media posts using available images, video, and approved messaging

·       Coordinate with colleagues to gather content, secure approvals, and maintain an organized communications calendar

·       Review digital communications carefully for accuracy, consistency, formatting, and functionality before publication

·       Provide light production support for exhibition promotions and press materials as needed
