We are currently in search of a Development Coordinator for a Research Foundation. The position is in-person on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, NY. This is a Full-time, temporary-to-permanent position.

POSITION TITLE: Development Coordinator

SCHEDULE: Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week

DURATION: Temporary-to-permanent

HOURLY RATE: $25.00 - $27.00

Anticipated SALARY: $60,000 - $70,000 annually, with potential for $75,000 for the right candidate

The Development Coordinator will provide administrative, operational, and data support to a fundraising team and help ensure that donor, grant, and development activities are organized and completed accurately. This role is ideal for someone who is curious, detail-oriented, and comfortable working between a fundraising team and a data or database team. The Development Coordinator will help maintain accurate fundraising data, support donor and grant activities, conduct research, coordinate follow-up, and assist with the day-to-day administrative needs of the development team. While the role involves meaningful development operations responsibilities, the ideal candidate should also be comfortable handling routine administrative tasks and supporting the team wherever needed.

Our Ideal Candidate:

· 4+ years of administrative or operations experience required, preferably in a nonprofit environment

· Experience supporting fundraising, development operations, or grant-related activities strongly preferred

· Comfortable working with data and databases and communicating with a data or database team

· Salesforce experience strongly preferred, with the ability to learn new systems quickly

· Strong understanding of data accuracy, data management, and maintaining organized records

· Experience with donor tracking, grant tracking, prospect research, or other development-related systems is a plus

· Experience with project management tools such as Asana is a plus

· Strong organizational and follow-up skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines

· Strong written communication and proofreading skills

· Curious and resourceful, with the ability to ask questions, research information, and identify what needs to be followed up on

· Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate between fundraising and data teams

· Comfortable translating fundraising needs into clear information and requests for the data team

· Detail-oriented and able to maintain confidentiality when handling donor and organizational information

· Able to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment

· Willing to take on both development operations responsibilities and routine administrative work, regardless of seniority level


How You Will Spend Your Day:

· Provide administrative and operational support to the fundraising team and Fundraising Managing Director.

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor, prospect, grant, and fundraising information.

· Enter donor updates, cultivation notes, and fundraising activities into Salesforce.

· Communicate with the data team regarding database needs, updates, and information requests.

· Help translate fundraising team needs into clear data and database requests.

· Support the accuracy and integrity of fundraising data by identifying missing, outdated, or inconsistent information.

· Provide backup support for basic Salesforce reporting and troubleshooting.

· Maintain donor, grant, and legacy giving trackers and ensure information is organized and current.

· Track donor outreach, stewardship activities, and follow-up to ensure deadlines are met.

· Assist with donor cultivation activities, including scheduling, preparing materials, and coordinating follow-up.

· Prepare donor packets, stewardship materials, legacy giving materials, and other donor-facing communications.

· Conduct donor, prospect, and grant research to support fundraising activities and identify potential funding opportunities.

· Maintain grant calendars, deadlines, reporting requirements, and submission information.

· Monitor upcoming grant deadlines and provide reminders to help ensure timely submissions and follow-up.

· Assist with preparing donor reports, fundraising trackers, and materials for leadership and board meetings.

· Support development-related expenses, reimbursements, submissions, and expense reconciliation.

· Assist with logistics for conferences, events, and other fundraising activities, including registration, materials, shipping, attendee tracking, and follow-up.

· Use project management tools to track tasks, deadlines, and development-related projects.

· Assist with general administrative tasks and office operations as needed.

· Communicate with internal team members and external contacts to gather information and coordinate follow-up.

· Handle confidential donor and organizational information with professionalism and discretion.

· Work independently while keeping the fundraising team informed of important updates, questions, and outstanding tasks.

· Take initiative to identify ways to improve processes, organization, and communication between fundraising and data teams.

· Perform other administrative, development, and operations duties as needed.
