We are seeking a full-time Membership Specialist for a temporary-to-permanent role. The Membership Specialist supports the full membership lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to retention and engagement. This role assists in executing membership operations, campaigns, and data tracking. As part of the Membership, Marketing, and Communications Team, the Membership Specialist works collaboratively with staff and volunteer leadership to deliver a high-quality member experience and support the Society’s strategic goals. This is a remote, full-time, temporary-to-permanent role. The individual must be located in Virginia or Florida due to payroll compliance.

SCHEDULE: 40 hours/week - 8:30 am - 5:00 pm EST
DURATION: Temporary to Permanent
Pay- $23/hr- $25/hr
Salary- $55,000

How You Will Spend Your Day:
Recruitment & Onboarding
· Support the implementation of strategies to attract members from diverse backgrounds and career stages
· Assist with outreach and recruitment campaigns to broaden the Society’s reach
· Maintain accurate membership records in the AMS in collaboration with the Database Manager
· Coordinate onboarding tasks for new members, including welcome communications and first-year engagement touchpoints
· Assist in the development and distribution of member collateral, resources, and orientation materials
Retention & Engagement
· Assist in executing annual renewal and win-back campaigns in collaboration with the Senior Marketing Manager
· Coordinate the annual dues process with the Database and Finance Managers
· Collaborate with Database Manager to conduct member census to ensure accurate and up-to-date data
· Support the implementation of engagement activities on Connect (the member community platform)
· Represent the Society at the annual symposium (and other trade shows), managing the booth and engagement events (e.g., Talent Show)
Committee Management
· Serve as the primary staff liaison to the Membership, Resident & Fellows Section, and Early Career Section Committees
· Collaborate with committee chairs to set goals, develop projects, and track progress
· Provide administrative and project management support, including meeting coordination, agenda, and minutes distribution
Collaboration & Communications
· Collaborate with the Senior Marketing Manager on messaging for recruitment, renewal, and engagement campaigns
· Collaborate with the Society Program Specialist to co-manage surveys as a member benefit
· Foster cross-functional collaboration across the entire team and committees to support a unified approach to membership growth and engagement
Data, Reporting & Insights
· Collaborate with Database Manager to perform regular reviews of membership data for accuracy
· Track and summarize key metrics, including growth, retention, demographics, and engagement
· Support the administration of member pulse surveys and compile results
· Assist in preparing reports and summaries for internal use
· Help maintain standard operating procedures for all membership workflows
