We are currently in search of a Program Director for a Housing-First Nonprofit. The position is On-site in Queens, NY. This is a full-time, permanent position.

ANNUAL SALARY: $95,000 - $100,000
Is This Your Dream Job? The Program Director is responsible for the overall administration of a 200 bed men’s homeless shelter. This role provides leadership for the day-to-day operation of the facility, as well as program accountability to ensure service goals are met or exceeded. The Program Director will report to and work closely with the Assistant Vice President, Services to ensure that relationships are developed with the local elected officials. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and relationship builder with prior experience supervising and working in a shelter.
Our Ideal Candidate:
· 2+ years of managerial experience with additional experience working in a shelter
· Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
· Experience in program management and knowledge of OTDA and DHS regulations
· Understanding of residential operations
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Proficiency working in CARES
· Ability to be on call 24/7 required
How You Will Spend Your Day:
· Oversees all program operations to ensure success of the program in meeting client needs.
· Ensures compliance with DHS outcomes regarding placements, long term stayers, placement retention, facility standards, as well as the organization’s performance and quality assurance measurements.
· Oversees process, census, vocational services, case management, facilities and housing placement services.
· Ensures operations follow regulatory requirements (State OTDA/DHS/hiring organization).
· Provides leadership, direction and direct supervision to management staff, including Director of Social Services, Security Manager, and permanent housing placement staff ensuring support is in place to ensure the success of the shelter. Assigns driving schedule to the site driver.
· Hires and reviews performance of all management staff.
· Interfaces with the community, neighborhood associations and other local service providers.
· Experience in facilitating and leading a Community Advisory Board (CAB)
· Drives and monitors program results
· Completes program status reports
· Creates and monitors program corrective action plans when needed
· Other duties as assigned.
