SALARY RANGE: $130k - $140k

The Director of Video and Media Production will play a key role in bringing this mission to life through engaging storytelling and media experiences across digital platforms, live events, exhibitions, and broadcast-quality productions. Reporting to the Chief Digital Officer, this position will lead the creative and technical direction of the Museum’s multimedia initiatives while collaborating across departments to create accessible, audience-centered content.
Our Ideal Candidate:
· 5–7+ years of multimedia/video production experience, preferably within nonprofit, museum, educational, or mission-driven environments
· Strong experience with video production, live event capture, multimedia editing, and digital storytelling
· Experience producing content for social media platforms including Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, or similar channels
· Ability to manage multi-camera productions, live audio recording, and onsite/remote shoots
· Strong project management skills with experience managing production timelines, scopes, budgets, and vendors
· Collaborative approach with the ability to work cross-functionally across creative, marketing, exhibitions, education, and development teams
· Experience directing narrative storytelling projects and adapting long-form content into short-form digital assets
· Technical proficiency operating and maintaining multimedia production equipment and editing systems
· Excellent communication skills with strong creative judgment and attention to detail
· Experience mentoring or overseeing junior production staff or freelancers preferred
· Passion for accessible storytelling, audience engagement, and mission-driven media production
How You Will Spend Your Day:
· Lead the creative and technical direction of video and multimedia storytelling projects
· Direct and oversee live event recording and presentation, including lectures, panels, and public programs
· Produce video content for exhibitions, educational programming, marketing campaigns, social media, and digital platforms
· Collaborate across departments to develop cohesive storytelling strategies aligned with Museum priorities
· Manage video production schedules, scopes, budgets, contractors, and deliverables
· Capture and edit video/audio content for digital, onsite, and broadcast-quality experiences
· Develop short-form, platform-optimized social media content and multimedia assets
· Oversee multimedia workflows, production standards, and media asset management
· Mentor the Associate Media Producer and support team development
· Research and implement new multimedia tools, technologies, and production approaches
