We are currently in search of a Fractional Director of Development for a Youth-Serving Health Nonprofit.

The position is Remote, with preference for Dallas–Fort Worth–based candidates. This is a part-time, contract role.


ORGANIZATION TYPE: Youth-Serving / Health-Focused Nonprofit

LOCATION: Remote (Preference for Dallas–Fort Worth)

POSITION TITLE: Fractional Director of Development

SCHEDULE: 10–25 hours/week

DURATION: 3-month contract, with potential to extend

HOURLY RATE: $80-90/hour

The Director of Development will build structure, drive revenue, and lead fundraising efforts during a critical growth phase for this organization. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in small or early-stage nonprofit environments, enjoys building systems, and can independently manage both strategy and day-to-day fundraising activities.


Our Ideal Candidate:

  • 10+ years of nonprofit fundraising experience
  • Demonstrated success in grant writing and individual donor development
  • Experience working in small to mid-sized or early-stage nonprofits
  • Able to operate independently with minimal administrative support
  • Strong writing skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience with donor CRM systems and basic reporting
  • Background in health, youth-serving, or family-focused nonprofits preferred
  • Familiarity with the North Texas funding landscape preferred


How You Will Spend Your Day:

Development Strategy

  • Develop and refine a practical, near-term fundraising strategy aligned with organizational goals
  • Establish revenue priorities across grants and individual giving
  • Create a 6–12 month development roadmap with clear targets and activities

Donor Development & Fundraising

  • Build and manage a donor pipeline, including identification, cultivation, and stewardship
  • Support and execute individual giving efforts, including recurring donors and major gift prospects
  • Assist with donor communications, appeals, and stewardship touchpoints

Campaign Management

  • Plan and execute fundraising campaigns, including giving days and targeted appeals
  • Track campaign performance and recommend adjustments

Grants & Institutional Funding

  • Conduct grant prospect research aligned with mission and eligibility
  • Write and submit grant applications, LOIs, and supporting materials
  • Track deadlines, submissions, and reporting requirements

Systems & Infrastructure

  • Establish simple, sustainable processes for tracking donors, grants, and fundraising activity
  • Work within existing CRM tools to support donor management and reporting
  • Provide basic reporting to leadership on progress and performance
