We are currently in search of a Temporary Programs Assistant for an Arts & Cultural Leadership Nonprofit. The position is on-site on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, NY. This is a part-time, temporary position supporting a high-volume period of program planning and delivery.


ORGANIZATION TYPE: Arts & Cultural Leadership Nonprofit

LOCATION: Upper East Side, Manhattan

POSITION TITLE: Temporary Programs Assistant

SCHEDULE: Monday - Thursday, 10:00am - 6:00pm, 28–35 hours/week. Additional hours may be available and occasional early morning, evening, or weekend hours may be needed during programming.

DURATION: September 28 - December 18, 2026, with potential extension through early next year

HOURLY RATE: $23.00 - $26.00


Is This Your Dream Job? This role is ideal for an experienced programs or administrative professional who enjoys coordinating logistics, managing details, and working with a wide range of people. The Programs Assistant will provide hands-on support for an upcoming intensive program, including travel, accommodations, scheduling, communications, and participant logistics. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, comfortable with high-profile stakeholders, and able to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Our Ideal Candidate:

  • 3+ years of program coordination or administrative experience
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Comfortable communicating directly with high-profile professionals and external partners
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Asana strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required
  • Adobe Creative Cloud experience is a plus
  • Nonprofit, arts, museum, or higher education experience is a plus


How You Will Spend Your Day:

  • Coordinate program logistics, including hotels, flights, transportation, restaurants, and catering
  • Support participant, speaker, and faculty scheduling and communications
  • Prepare program schedules, materials, correspondence, and presentations
  • Track deadlines, project timelines, and outstanding tasks in Asana
  • Assist with contracts, invoices, reimbursements, and other administrative tasks
  • Communicate with participants, vendors, presenters, and external partners
  • Maintain program files, calendars, databases, and planning documents
  • Support program events and provide on-site logistical assistance
  • Assist with other program and administrative projects as needed
