We are currently searching for a Human Resources Business Partner for a Public Charity and Community-based Behavioral Healthcare organization located in Elk Grove Village, IL. This is a Full-Time, Hybrid, Temporary-to-Permanent opportunity. If selected for the role permanently, the annual salary range is $75,000–85,000/yr. plus benefits.

POSITION TITLE: Human Resources Business Partner

DURATION: Temporary-to-Permanent

SCHEDULE: Full-Time (37.5 hrs./wk.); Hybrid (2-3 days onsite, all other days remote)

HOURLY RATE: $40-42/hr. DOE

The Human Resources Business Partner will focus on compensation practices, pay-decision support, policy development, compliance documentation, and guidance to organizational leaders. The position will also support benefits administration, HR vendors, payroll coordination, and broader HR operations.


Our Ideal Candidate:


  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of progressive HR experience, specifically negotiating benefits
  • Experience supporting compensation reviews or pay-related decisions
  • Understanding of internal equity and compensation practices
  • Working knowledge of federal and Illinois employment requirements
  • Experience developing, reviewing, or interpreting HR policies
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to explain HR policies and recommendations to managers
  • Experience documenting and tracking HR decisions
  • Ability to organize work across multiple departments, programs, or locations



How You Will Spend Your Day:


  • Support the development and implementation of compensation guidelines, pay structures, promotion practices, and compensation philosophy
  • Guide leaders on compensation decisions while considering internal equity and organizational standards
  • Review promotion increases, pay adjustments, stipends, and other compensation requests with HR leadership
  • Identify inconsistent compensation practices and escalate concerns or trends
  • Maintain documentation and approval processes for compensation decisions
  • Track compensation actions to improve consistency and organizational visibility
  • Support compliance with employment laws, internal policies, and HR requirements
  • Identify potential compliance risks and escalate higher-risk concerns
  • Support HR audits, documentation, and policy updates
  • Develop, review, and maintain HR policies
  • Guide leaders and HR employees on policy interpretation and application
  • Help ensure consistent policy application across programs
  • Partner with HR leadership and Finance to align compensation decisions with payroll processes
  • Communicate compensation changes accurately and promptly
  • Support relationships with benefits providers and other HR vendors
  • Help evaluate vendor performance and alignment with organizational needs
  • Coordinate with HR Operations on routine vendor questions and activities
  • Perform additional HR responsibilities as organizational needs evolve
