PNP Staffing Group is excited to have been retained by Westhab to lead their search for a Vice President of Development.

 

LOCATION:  Yonkers, NY

REPORTS TO:  President and CEO

SALARY: $180,000-$200,000

SUMMARY

The Vice President of Development leads all aspects of Westhab’s fundraising strategy and execution across all channels including: major gifts, planned giving, events, and direct response. Oversees marketing and public relations efforts, volunteer coordination, and the grant writing function, cultivating support from individuals, philanthropic foundations, and corporate partners. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of soliciting, cultivating and stewarding a large network of individuals and institutional donors.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Primary focus on developing and executing a major gifts program. Creates, implements, and manages a comprehensive donor relations plan including prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Builds an extensive donor pipeline.
  • Implements growth and retention strategies with existing donors and prospects of all levels.
  • Implements a Board engagement plan and works with the Board of Directors on overall fundraising strategy and donor cultivation efforts.
  • Oversees all donor cultivation, fundraising events, and annual appeals. Implements a comprehensive strategy for capital campaigns.
  • Develops a planned giving program, to include identifying and soliciting prospects, creating and implementing a marketing strategy, and creating a gift policy.
  • Develops annual fundraising budgets. Reports on the overall performance of fundraising against goals and the strategic plan.
  • Supervises grant writing and volunteer coordination functions, building relationships with foundations, corporate partners, and civic organizations.
  • Supervises communications functions, including internal and external communications, social media, marketing, public relations, and press releases, working with outside public relations and marketing firms as needed.
  • Stays apprised of advancements in the fundraising and development profession. Directs and leads adaptations to current strategies and practices.

 

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor Degree required with 5-10 years of fundraising and development experience in leadership positions. Prior experience in a senior leadership role required.
  • Strong background managing and cultivating all aspects of fundraising including high net worth individuals, foundation and corporate relations, and direct response fundraising.
  • Experience with fundraising applications using available data to perform donor data analysis and reporting. Ability to coach staff in the development and successful management of a major gift portfolio.
