We are currently in search of an HR Associate for a Behavioral Health Services organization located in Oak Park, IL. This is a Part-Time (16 hrs./wk.), In-Person, Ongoing Temporary assignment.

DURATION: Ongoing Temporary Assignment

PAY RATE: $28-30/hr. DOE

Under the supervision of the HR Generalist, the Human Resources Associate will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department. This role combines administrative precision with people-centered service, ensuring that staff and new hires have a positive and efficient experience from recruitment through onboarding. The ideal candidate is a thoughtful communicator, highly organized, and motivated by the opportunity to strengthen systems that support a compassionate, community-focused organization.


Our Ideal Candidate:


  • 2+ years of Human Resources experience, ideally in a nonprofit or healthcare setting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of professionalism and emotional intelligence
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace; experience with HRIS or applicant tracking systems a plus
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and follow-through in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion


How You Will Spend Your day:


  • Recruitment & Hiring: Post and manage job listings across recruitment platforms, coordinate candidate communications, and assist with interview scheduling
  • Onboarding & Orientation: Prepare onboarding materials, compile personnel files, and mail orientation packets to new hires; ensure completion of required forms and documentation
  • Benefits & Records: Support annual benefits open enrollment, maintain accurate employee eligibility rosters, and update HR databases and spreadsheets as needed
  • Employee Engagement: Assist with staff recognition initiatives, year-end acknowledgments, and other efforts that build morale and strengthen organizational culture
  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative and logistical support to the HR Generalist and department leadership
