We are currently in search of a Development Associate for a Community Foundation located in San Francisco, CA. This is a Full-Time, Fully Remote, Temporary (~2 months) assignment. Of note, you must reside within the Bay Area to be considered for this role.

 

ORGANIZATION TYPE: Community Foundation

LOCATION: Fully Remote

POSITION TITLE: Development Associate

SCHEDULE: Full Time (40 hours/week)

DURATION: Temporary (~2 months)

HOURLY RATE: $27-30/hr. DOE

 

Is This Your Dream Job? The Development Associate supports fundraising and engagement efforts by managing the database (Salesforce), as well as supporting the Executive Director with communication responsibilities. to include drafting professional correspondence on behalf of senior leadership with minimal guidance.


Our Ideal Candidate:


  • 3+ years of experience in Development and Fundraising
  • Experience with Executive-level communication: Writes and speaks with precision, clarity, and authority. Adapts style for diverse audiences — from community members to board directors to funders
  • Exceptional project management skills and demonstrated experience driving complex projects from concept to completion, including building systems, managing stakeholders, and measuring impact
  • Proficiency in Outlook and project management or task tracking tools (e.g., Asana, Notion, or similar)
  • A multitasker with the ability to wear many hats in a fast-paced environment who is agile, iterative, and flexible
  • Preferred: Lived experience with or deep connection to Bay Area AANHPI communities is highly valued; knowledge of the philanthropic and nonprofit landscape in the Bay Area is a strong plus

 

How You Will Spend Your Day:


  • Donor follow-up and scheduling of meetings with internal and external stakeholders
  • Email drafting with experience adapting writing style for diverse audiences — from community members to board directors and funders
  • Meeting prep - research on donors
  • Input donor notes into Salesforce with knowledge of handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion and sound judgment
  • Maintain the hiring calendars
  • Sponsorship outreach email drafting
  • Managing comms (PM) - run a dashboard/Asana - help prioritize and plan
