We are currently in search of a Director of Philanthropic Partnerships for the Computer History Museum (CHM). The position is Hybrid in Mountain View, CA. This is a Full-Time, Permanent position.

ANNUAL SALARY: $125-$150K

From the heart of Silicon Valley, the Computer History Museum is on a mission to decode technology — its computing past, digital present, and future impact — in order to inform, inspire, and shape a better future. The Director, Philanthropic Partnerships will play a key role in advancing this mission by building and stewarding relationships with institutional funders, including foundations, corporations, and government agencies. Reporting to the Vice President & Chief Development Officer, this individual will develop funding strategies, craft compelling proposals, and oversee institutional partnerships that support the Museum’s programs and strategic priorities.
Our Ideal Candidate:
· Proven experience securing grants and sponsorships from institutional funders, including corporations, foundations, and government agencies
· Strong grant writing experience, including proposal development and budget preparation
· Demonstrated success building and sustaining long-term philanthropic partnerships
· Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
· Ability to develop compelling funding proposals and effectively steward funder relationships
· Highly organized with strong follow-through and attention to detail
· Creative, persistent, and collaborative approach to fundraising and partnership development
· Comfortable working across departments to align organizational priorities with funder interests
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
· Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
· Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends for Museum events
How You Will Spend Your Day:
· Serve as the Museum’s lead ambassador for institutional funder relationships
· Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward foundations, corporate sponsors, and government funding partners
· Build and maintain a robust pipeline of institutional funding prospects
· Develop funding strategies in partnership with colleagues across the Museum
· Align Museum initiatives and priorities with institutional partner interests and giving goals
· Write, present, and follow up on grant proposals and sponsorship opportunities
· Track and report on fundraising goals, partnership activity, and proposal outcomes
· Oversee institutional partner benefits and ensure fulfillment of sponsorship and grant agreements
· Coordinate with Museum teams to ensure timely and accurate grant reporting and compliance
· Represent the Museum at events and networking opportunities to strengthen external partnerships
