We are looking for an organized, self-driven, and compassionate Office Manager who thrives in a dynamic work environment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple tasks at once, and have excellent interpersonal skills. This position is based in Chicago (Downtown). This is an In Person ( 5 days a week), Temporary opportunity with the potential of extension. 


ORGANIZATION: Educational  Nonprofit

LOCATION: Chicago - Downtown 

POSITION TITLE: Office Manager

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm CST (40 hours a week) 

DURATION: Temporary (2 months)

HOURLY RATE: - $28.00/hr- $31.00/hr


Is This Your Dream Job? As the Office Manager, You should have a strong background in office administration, along with experience in supervising and managing a team. In addition, you should have experience with HR responsibilities and a payment system.  


Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum of two years previous experience working in an office environment with admin or executive related tasks.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within an office environment.
  • HR and/or recruiting experience preferred in the nonprofit sector.
  • Experience with Paylocity or similar system.


How You Will Spend Your Day:

  • Provide general administrative support to leadership and staff, including document preparation, scheduling, and communication.
  • Serve as a liaison between employees and management regarding HR policies and benefits.
  • Assist with recruitment efforts by posting job openings, scheduling interviews, and conducting initial candidate screenings.
  • Administer payroll processing using Paylocity or similar software, ensuring accuracy and timely distribution.
  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the office, ensuring a smooth and efficient work environment.
  • Act as the main point of contact for office supplies, equipment, and facility maintenance.
  • Coordinate office events, meetings, and any employee-related activities.
  • Manage office calendar, schedule meetings, and handle correspondence as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and maintain office cleanliness and organization.
