We are currently in search of a Manager, Events & Conferences to join a Professional Association. This is a Full-Time, Hybrid position based in Chicago, IL with an anticipated salary of $90,000- $100,000.

DURATION: Permanent role

SALARY: $90,000- $100,000 

 

Is This Your Dream Job? The Manager, Events & Conferences will lead the planning and execution of the association’s various events/conferences and education courses. Overseeing all logistical operations, managing a support role, and ensuring all events run smoothly from conception through to completion.

 

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • 5+ years experience in association events & conference planning
  • Background in Associations
  • Excellent Organization and Communication Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree- Preferred
  • Proficient in Nimble or Personify-Preferred

 

How You Will Spend Your Day: 

  • Oversee ancillary events such as the Leadership Conference and Leaders & Honoree Reception, as well as provide support for the Annual Conference ensuring they align with overall event goals.
  • Research and implement attendee experience programs that elevate event engagement.
  • Manage registration processes, including lanyard and badge setup, accommodating ADA requirements and special meal requests.  
  • Lead food and beverage logistics, from planning to execution, to create a memorable culinary experience.
  • Oversee signage and wayfinding strategies to enhance attendee navigation.
  • Act as the liaison with hotels to coordinate transfers and concessions for attendees.
  • Serve as the Transportation Lead, coordinating with shuttle companies for attendee transfers.
  • Develop and hire temporary staff schedules to support event operations.
  • Oversee the Instructor Submittable Process and manage instructor and content for all in-person events, ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Partner with Workforce Development to support certificate programs.
  • Analyze meeting reports and provide insights into continuous improvement.
  • Supervise and mentor the Events & Conferences Specialist.
  • Other duties as assigned
