About the Opportunity

Our client, a well-established food and beverage manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day plant operations and drive excellence in production, safety, and quality. This position plays a key leadership role in ensuring that all manufacturing objectives are achieved efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in food or beverage manufacturing, with proven experience leading large teams, improving processes, and driving operational efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of plant operations including production, quality, safety, and scheduling to meet performance goals.
  • Manage and mentor production supervisors and shift leads to ensure consistent execution of daily plans and priorities.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve throughput, yield, and cost efficiency while maintaining food safety and product integrity.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and HR to align plant initiatives with company objectives.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement across all departments.
  • Monitor and analyze production metrics (OEE, downtime, waste, labor efficiency) to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with GMPs, HACCP, OSHA, and all company policies.
  • Support capital projects, capacity planning, and process optimization initiatives.
  • Lead weekly operations and planning meetings to coordinate production goals, staffing, and resource needs.
  • Partner with leadership to establish short- and long-term operational goals, budgets, and performance standards.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Food Science, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience within food or beverage manufacturing.
  • Proven track record in production management, process improvement, and team leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement principles.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
