About the Opportunity

Our client, a respected manufacturing company, is seeking a Labor Compliance Specialist to ensure the company’s operations fully align with federal, state, and local labor laws. This role is critical in maintaining a culture of compliance, integrity, and accountability across all areas of the business.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and experienced in compliance, employee relations, or HR operations within a manufacturing or food industry setting. This individual will play a key role in ensuring labor practices meet all regulatory requirements while supporting a fair and transparent workplace for all employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor and employment regulations, including wage and hour, leave policies, and workplace safety.
  • Conduct internal audits of timekeeping, prevailing wage payroll, and personnel records to identify and correct compliance issues.
  • Review and update company policies, procedures, and employee handbooks to ensure alignment with changing labor laws.
  • Partner with HR, Payroll, and Operations teams to ensure consistent application of labor standards.
  • Manage and maintain accurate documentation related to employment, training, and corrective actions.
  • Support investigations and responses related to EEOC, OSHA, and Department of Labor inquiries.
  • Assist with training managers and supervisors on proper labor practices and company compliance policies.
  • Stay current with legal developments affecting labor and employment practices.
  • Provide support during audits, inspections, and external reviews.
  • Promote a culture of compliance and ethical workplace behavior across all departments.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in labor compliance, HR, or employee relations within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of FLSA, FMLA, EEOC, OSHA, and other employment regulations.
  • Experience conducting audits and preparing compliance documentation.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and discretion with sensitive information.
