This is what You’ll Deliver:

As the Staff Accountant for this established crop production leader, you’ll serve as a key financial partner, ensuring accuracy and insight that support operational success and growth. Your skills will contribute to efficient financial management in a dynamic agricultural environment, combining detailed accounting with analytical support tailored to crop cycles. Here’s how you’ll shine:

  • Maintain Financial Accuracy: Prepare journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes to ensure precise general ledger maintenance.
  • Support Cost Analysis: Analyze production costs, inventory valuations, and variances in a high-volume crop setting, including inputs like seeds, fertilizers, equipment, yields, and seasonal operational expenses.
  • Handle Core Accounting Tasks: Assist with accounts payable/receivable, fixed asset tracking, and inventory management aligned with crop production cycles.
  • Ensure Compliance and Reporting: Adhere to GAAP standards, internal controls, and agriculture-specific regulations; prepare financial reports and schedules to support audits, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Provide Insights: Contribute to financial analysis, budgeting, and strategic reporting to aid decision-making in farming operations, commodity pricing, and resource allocation.
  • Bring the Expertise: Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with 2+ years of accounting experience (agriculture, farming, or manufacturing preferred). Proficiency in ERP systems, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, seasonal environment are essential.
