This is a boutique commercial and contractual litigation firm based in Coral Gables, Florida. The firm handles a diverse caseload including real estate disputes, foreclosure defense, debt settlement, escrow disputes, and commercial and residential landlord-tenant matters. The firm is deeply client-centric — attorneys interact directly with clients for case updates, trial preparation, and ongoing status calls, creating a high-touch, relationship-driven practice.
With a growing client base and a managing attorney committed to stepping back from day-to-day litigation, the firm is ready to bring on an experienced senior attorney who can take ownership of the litigation department.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a leadership role. Within 9-12 months, you will independently run the litigation department, allowing the managing attorney to transition entirely out of litigation. You will also mentor a junior attorney who will be hired concurrently. This is ideal for a proven litigator who thrives in a fast-paced boutique environment, values autonomy, and wants to grow into a department leadership role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Independently manage a caseload of commercial and contractual litigation matters from inception through trial
• Handle real estate disputes, foreclosure defense, debt settlement, escrow disputes, and commercial/residential landlord-tenant cases
• Maintain direct client communication — case updates, trial preparation, status calls, and overall relationship management
• Conduct depositions and appear at trial; manage all pre-trial and trial strategy
• Mentor and supervise a junior attorney, providing guidance on case strategy and client communication
• Transition progressively into full department leadership within 9-12 months
• Collaborate with the managing attorney during onboarding and knowledge transfer period
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 7-10 years of litigation experience, with a strong commercial and contractual litigation background
• Active Florida Bar license in good standing
• Proven trial and deposition experience — must be able to operate independently without supervision
• Strong client communication skills; ability to manage client relationships and status updates directly
• Experience in one or more of the following: real estate disputes, foreclosure defense, landlord-tenant law, debt settlement, escrow disputes
• Local to South Florida (Miami-Dade or Broward County) for court appearances
• Native English fluency
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bilingual — English and Spanish
• Familiarity with South Florida court procedures and judicial preferences
• Prior experience in a boutique or small firm environment
