Job Title: Bankruptcy Associate Attorney

Position Overview


We are seeking an experienced Bankruptcy Associate Attorney to join a dynamic legal team in Miami, FL. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience handling complex bankruptcy matters, including Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 cases, and will be comfortable managing cases from inception through resolution. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of bankruptcy matters, including corporate restructurings and individual filings
  • Represent clients in bankruptcy court proceedings, hearings, and creditor meetings
  • Draft and review legal documents such as petitions, schedules, motions, and reorganization plans
  • Advise clients on bankruptcy strategies, risk assessment, and financial restructuring options
  • Conduct legal research and stay current on developments in bankruptcy law
  • Negotiate with creditors, trustees, and opposing counsel
  • Assist senior attorneys and partners on complex Chapter 11 cases and litigation matters
  • Ensure compliance with federal bankruptcy rules and local court procedures

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in the Florida Bar (in good standing)
  • 3+ years of experience in bankruptcy law
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Bankruptcy Code and Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure
  • Experience with both debtor and creditor representations preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with complex Chapter 11 reorganizations
  • Familiarity with bankruptcy litigation and adversary proceedings
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software
