We are growing and seeking an experienced Lead Dental Assistant to join us in delivering world-class dentistry in Louisville.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical & People Leadership

  • Oversee daily operations of chairside dentistry and sterilization protocols.
  • Create weekly sterilization and equipment maintenance assignments for assistants/hygienists.
  • Manage clinical supply ordering, stocking, and organization.
  • Maintain strong and consistent communication with the in-house lab for case needs.
  • Ensure seamless preparation and assistance for surgical procedures.
  • Provide leadership in training, delegation, and team support.
  • Participate in patient “after-hours” call rotation when needed.

Chairside & General Duties

  • Partner with dentists to maintain a compassionate, patient-centered care environment.
  • Deliver excellent clinical support, patient education, and diagnostic assistance (x-rays, health histories, etc.).
  • Prepare and maintain treatment rooms in compliance with CDC/OSHA guidelines.
  • Aid in accurate and timely completion of clinical notes.
  • Sterilize and deliver instruments for efficient workflow.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in all clinical areas.
  • Actively contribute ideas to improve patient experience.
  • Support continuing improvement by staying current with CE opportunities and networking.
  • Promote teamwork and positivity across the practice.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the dentist or management.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Dental Assistant (general dentistry, endodontics, or prosthodontics preferred).
  • Expanded Duties (EDDA/EFDA) certification strongly preferred.
  • High School Diploma required; Dental Assistant Certification preferred.
  • X-Ray and CPR certifications required.
  • Experience with Open Dental, Dexis, or similar dental software systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a clinical setting.
  • Strong work ethic, service orientation, and proven ability to build positive relationships with patients and staff.
