Position Title: CVOR Tech (Tier 3)

Schedule: Full-time, 40-hour work week

Location: Kansas City, MO Relocation Offered + $25K Sign On

Differential Pay up to $9.00 Hour

Shift: Days (Rotating Weekends)

On-Call Requirement: Must reside within 30 minutes of the facility

Position Overview

The CVOR Tech (Tier 3) is an advanced surgical technologist responsible for supporting complex cardiovascular and high-risk surgical procedures. This senior-level role requires expertise, precision, and leadership within the operating room. The Tier 3 Tech serves as a key resource and mentor to peers while ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and surgical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain surgical suites, ensuring readiness of all instruments and specialized cardiovascular equipment.
  • Scrub and assist during complex cardiovascular, endovascular, and open-heart procedures.
  • Anticipate surgical team needs and maintain the sterile field throughout procedures.
  • Serve as a lead or mentor within the OR team, supporting training and adherence to clinical protocols.
  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and nursing staff to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Participate in case setup, room turnover, and post-procedure care of instruments and equipment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of CVOR and Open Heart Tech experience required (7+ years strongly preferred).
  • Proven competency to perform as lead in multiple specialty areas, including Robotic, Total Joint, Neuro/Spine, Burn, and Vascular Surgery.
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery (TS-C) through NCCT required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (must be obtained within 30 days of hire).
  • Prior experience in a facility of comparable size and service complexity preferred.
