Position: Pulmonary Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Schedule: Full-Time (Days)
Location: Roanoke, VA
Mon-Friday DAYS, No Call , No Nights, No Weekends
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Pulmonary Nurse Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary Pulmonary Medicine team. This provider will deliver advanced clinical care to patients with acute and chronic pulmonary conditions in both inpatient and/or outpatient settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive assessments, histories, and physical examinations.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic pulmonary conditions, including COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, and respiratory failure.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, PFTs, sleep studies).
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans.
- Manage ventilator-dependent and high-acuity respiratory patients as applicable.
- Collaborate closely with Pulmonologists, Respiratory Therapists, RNs, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide patient and family education regarding disease processes, medications, and care plans.
- Participate in care coordination, follow-up visits, and transitions of care.
- Document all patient encounters and interventions in the EHR accurately and timely.
Requirements
- Preferred experience in long-term care or a skilled nursing facility
- Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Physician license
- DEA License
- CPR BCLS/BLS certified
- Must hold a Master's Degree in Nursing
- Completed a degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Experience in Pulmonology or respiratory care
- Preferred experience in Documenting EMR (Sigma, Visual, PCC, etc.): training provided
- Must have great organizational and time management skills.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds and stand / walk / work on your feet up to 6-8 hours per day
