Title: Medical Technologist I

Full Time

Shift: 3x12(nights, Day, Evening)

Location: Muskogee, OK


Job Summary:

Responsible for identifying, processing, and documenting laboratory specimens to assist in the assessment and monitoring of patient health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procedures for collecting, processing, and analyzing biological specimens and other substances.
  • Perform and report analytical tests, interpreting data from various clinical laboratory areas and resolving discrepancies when needed.
  • Confirm abnormal test results by verifying quality control processes and troubleshooting issues related to laboratory data.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on laboratory equipment and coordinate with appropriate sources for repairs.
  • Promote departmental goals by demonstrating teamwork, service excellence, adherence to protocols, and continuous process improvement.
  • Provide support and guidance to medical laboratory science students during hands-on educational activities.

Uses independent judgment to plan and execute technical processes and make informed decisions in a complex clinical environment.

Working Relationships:

  • Direct interaction with patients and/or customers.
  • Communication with internal stakeholders through in-person and telephone contact.
  • Collaboration with external parties and other healthcare professionals.

Skills & Experience:

Required:

  • Minimum of one (1) year of laboratory experience involving high complexity testing.
  • Proficient computer skills for effective data entry and analysis.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Well-organized, efficient work habits.
  • High attention to detail when handling clinical and numerical data.

Education:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related biological or chemical science from an accredited institution.

Certifications & Licensure:

Required:

  • Successful completion of a nationally recognized certification exam for laboratory scientists from an accredited agency.
