MRI Technologist – Full Time


Schedule: Various full-time positions open - Days/Evenings


Sign-On Bonus: $20,000


Salary Range: $49.92 – $60.32/hour


Position Summary


The MRI Technologist performs routine and specialized MRI procedures while ensuring high-quality imaging and safe, compassionate patient care. Responsibilities include preparing and positioning patients, operating MRI equipment, assisting radiologists, completing documentation, maintaining safety standards, and performing related departmental duties.


Essential Responsibilities


  • Prepare, position, and educate patients for MRI exams, ensuring proper protocol, documentation, and image quality.
  • Review completed scans for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist physicians during procedures when needed.
  • Perform required quality assurance tasks and equipment calibrations.
  • Maintain cleanliness of MRI equipment and work areas; report malfunctions promptly.
  • Conduct routine office tasks such as answering phones, checking prior imaging, and using EMR/PACS.
  • Notify appropriate staff upon exam completion and facilitate communication of urgent findings.
  • Serve as a preceptor or instructor if assigned.
  • Provide age-appropriate and patient-centered care to diverse populations.
  • Participate in staff meetings, in-services, and continuing education.
  • Perform additional related duties as needed.


Education & Certification Requirements


  • Graduate of an accredited radiography program.
  • ARRT certification in Radiography (RT); MRI certification required within one year of hire (ARRT MR or ARMRIT).
  • State licensure or limited permit required.
  • Maintain required continuing education (currently 24 CE credits every two years).
  • BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • IV certification preferred or obtained within orientation period.
  • Annual MRI Level 2 safety certification required.

  • Regular interaction with patients, requiring clear and accurate communication.
  • Ability to move and position patients for exams.
  • Possible exposure to chemicals; adherence to safety protocols required.
