About the Role

This lab is seeking a talented Orthodontic Wire Bender Technician to join our orthodontic laboratory team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating and shaping orthodontic wires used in appliances such as retainers, expanders, and aligners. Working closely with technicians and orthodontists, you will ensure that every appliance meets precise specifications and delivers the highest level of quality for patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Bend and shape orthodontic wires using specialized hand tools and pliers
• Interpret prescriptions and appliance designs provided by orthodontists
• Fabricate wire frameworks and components for retainers, space maintainers, and other orthodontic devices
• Trim, polish, and finish wire appliances to exact standards
• Maintain accurate documentation of materials used and work completed
• Collaborate with laboratory colleagues to ensure timely delivery of appliances
• Adhere to established safety, hygiene, and quality control protocols

Qualifications

• Previous experience in orthodontic wire bending or dental lab work preferred
• Strong manual dexterity and fine motor skills
• Knowledge of orthodontic appliance types and wire materials (e.g., NiTi, Beta Titanium)
• Ability to read and interpret dental prescriptions and plaster or digital models
• Proficiency with orthodontic pliers and specialized hand tools
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
