Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO)

We are seeking an Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) to oversee Inpatient, Emergency, and Critical Care Services.

This is a unique opportunity to shape patient care, mentor clinical teams, and drive operational excellence in a dynamic healthcare environment.



What You’ll Do:

  • Lead Clinical & Operational Excellence: Manage daily nursing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered care.
  • Drive Quality & Compliance: Oversee clinical outcomes, patient safety initiatives, and adherence to regulatory standards (Joint Commission, CMS).
  • Mentor & Develop Staff: Coach and evaluate nursing leaders, oversee recruitment, retention, and workforce planning.
  • Strategic Planning & Innovation: Partner with the CNO to implement nursing strategies, policies, and initiatives.
  • Budget & Resource Management: Support budget planning, cost control, and resource allocation for nursing services.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with physicians, executives, and departments to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Lead Change & Projects: Manage hospital-wide initiatives, quality improvement projects, and process redesigns.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Education: BSN required; MSN, MHA, MBA, or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • Licensure: Active RN license in the state of employment.
  • Experience: 7–10+ years progressive nursing experience with significant leadership experience (unit manager, director, or equivalent).
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; financial acumen; knowledge of regulatory standards, patient safety, and quality improvement.
