Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Hospice Aide


LOCATION: Rapid City, SD

JOB TYPE: Full-Time Permanent


Are you a compassionate caregiver who wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and families? We are seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)/Hospice Aide to provide personal care and comfort to patients in a home setting. This role focuses on dignity, respect, and supportive care during an important stage of life.

 

As a CNA, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse as part of an interdisciplinary care team. You will help patients remain comfortable while supporting families and caregivers with daily care needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care including bathing, grooming, oral care, and dressing
  • Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning
  • Help with meals and feeding as needed
  • Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the nurse
  • Assist with light housekeeping and laundry related to patient care
  • Support patients and families with compassionate communication
  • Help maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Assist with range of motion exercises as directed
  • Provide comfort-focused care and companionship
  • Document care provided according to guidelines

 

Qualifications

  • Meets state training requirements for hospice aide or nursing assistant
  • Minimum required classroom and practical training hours completed
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Ability to follow instructions and document care accurately
  • Comfortable providing care for individuals with serious illness
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Compassionate, patient, and dependable

 

Additional Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Current auto insurance
  • Ability to travel to patient homes
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional conduct

 

Work Environment

  • Patient home settings
  • Regular travel between patient visits
  • Possible exposure to illness or infectious conditions
  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking, and assisting patients
