Senior Physician Assistant – Urgent Care / Emergency (Evening, 36 hrs)


Location: Roseville | Onsite

Salary: USD $170,000 – $230,000 / yr


Job Summary

Under the supervision of a physician, the Senior Physician Assistant delivers high-quality, efficient, patient-focused care in a team-based environment. This role may include patient management in urgent care, emergency, hospital, and/or perioperative settings. Duties can include First Assist responsibilities in the OR, specialty-specific procedures, and on-call coverage. As an experienced clinician, the Senior Physician Assistant also serves as a mentor to less experienced PAs, providing both clinical and operational expertise.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Conduct physical examinations and compile detailed medical histories
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests (imaging, ECG, labs)
  • Perform therapeutic procedures: injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care, infection management
  • Develop and implement patient management plans, document care, and ensure continuity
  • Educate patients and families on treatment, prevention, and health maintenance
  • Specialty-specific duties may include:
  • First Assist in surgeries and perioperative procedures
  • Inpatient rounding and admissions
  • Pre- and post-operative education and management
  • Writing admission, post-op, discharge, and transfer documentation
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support departmental collaboration


Must-Have Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of recent experience (within the last 5 years) as a Physician Assistant
  • Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Active California Physician Assistant License
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Physician Assistant National Certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification


Additional Requirements:

  • Fluoroscopy Permit required (or must be obtained within 18 months) for Orthopedics, Interventional Radiology, and Radiation Oncology specialties
  • Ability to perform department-specific tasks and work in a collaborative environment



Schedule (Onsite)

  • Week 1: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu (12:30 pm – 8:30 pm) | Sat (10:00 am – 6:00 pm)
  • Week 2: Sun (10:00 am – 6:00 pm) | Mon, Thu, Fri (12:30 pm – 8:30 pm)
