Anatomic Pathology Operations Manager

Full-Time | Day Shift

Schedule: Mon–Fri, 8:00am–4:00pm (rotating weekends/holidays)

Position Summary

Responsible for the overall coordination and management of histology, cytology, and MOHS laboratories to ensure high-quality testing, regulatory compliance, and efficient operations. Oversees laboratory leadership staff and supports departmental goals, quality initiatives, and staff development.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of anatomic pathology laboratories
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and hospital standards
• Supervise and support laboratory leadership and technical staff
• Oversee quality control programs, turnaround times, and reporting
• Manage staffing, payroll, hiring, evaluations, and competency requirements
• Develop departmental goals, budgets, and capital equipment plans
• Maintain effective communication with staff, leadership, vendors, and interdisciplinary teams
• Promote a safe, professional, and customer-focused work environment
• Support laboratory systems, instrumentation, and software utilization
• Participate in committees, performance improvement, and educational activities

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Technology or related science
• Minimum 6 years of relevant hospital laboratory experience
• Current NYS license (Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Cytotechnologist, Histotechnologist, or Pathologists’ Assistant)
• ASCP certification preferred
