Compensation: $120,000 - $150,000
Job Summary
The Mother Baby Director is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care by overseeing the operations, staffing, planning, and budgeting for assigned units or departments. This role promotes a culture of accountability and collaboration while leading the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and procedures that support organizational objectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Cultivate a strong clinical identity by applying evidence-based practices to improve patient safety and quality outcomes; ensure adherence to standards of care.
- Reduce variation in clinical practice to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and cost management; promote accountability and transparency in care delivery.
- Monitor relevant benchmarks, accreditation requirements, and professional designations, and lead efforts to meet or maintain them.
- Stay current on legal and regulatory standards and ensure all policies, procedures, and practices comply with applicable requirements.
- Support efficient patient flow and high-quality care through accurate volume forecasting, coordination of patient throughput, and effective admission/discharge planning.
- Develop and implement care coordination processes that improve quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
- Foster effective interdisciplinary communication and collaboration; ensure staff with appropriate competencies are assigned to meet patient care needs.
- Direct nursing practice and daily operations; establish and evaluate policies, procedures, and standards that support patient and family needs.
- Provide leadership that promotes an exceptional patient experience.
Job Qualifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required
- Experience in labor & delivery, postpartum, or mother–baby units required
- Minimum of 3 years in a leadership role within L&D
- Leadership experience must be at the supervisor level or higher
