Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)

Schedule: Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | 36 Hours/Week

Position Type: Direct Hire


About the Opportunity

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) to join a high-volume, patient-centered maternity unit. This role offers the opportunity to care for a diverse patient population, including a significant number of high-risk pregnancies, within a collaborative and supportive clinical environment.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Range: $33 – $52/hour (based on experience)
  • Sign-On Bonus: Up to $10,000 for eligible candidates
  • Must reside outside a 71-mile radius
  • 2-year commitment required


Unit Highlights

  • 20 Labor & Delivery rooms
  • 11 OB triage rooms
  • 3 surgical suites
  • ~350 deliveries per month
  • ~40% high-risk cases
  • One of the busiest delivery hospitals in the region


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
  • Monitor and evaluate patient condition throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum care
  • Provide age-appropriate, culturally competent care tailored to each patient’s needs
  • Accurately document clinical assessments, interventions, and outcomes
  • Educate patients and families to support informed decision-making and discharge planning
  • Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing education


Required:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (multi-state or state-specific)
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced environment


Preferred:

  • Experience in high-risk obstetrics
  • Familiarity with clinical pathways and patient-centered care models
