Position Overview

The Director of Professional Education & Learning Development is responsible for leading the strategy, design, and delivery of customer-facing education programs, implant training initiatives, and professional events. This role also develops and executes learning strategies for the Technical Consulting (TC) team, advancing internal capabilities and aligning in-lab technical training with customer-focused education.

This position requires a clinically driven leader who can design and deliver compelling education content, manage national and regional events, oversee sponsorships and trade shows, and serve as a trusted subject matter expert in implants and removable prosthetics. Additionally, the Director will dedicate time in the laboratory to coach and develop technical team members, driving consistency, skill growth, and clinical excellence.

This field-based role requires frequent travel (50%+) for customer events, training programs, and field team development. When not traveling, the Director will work remotely to create educational content, plan initiatives, and manage program strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the professional education and events strategy to enhance customer engagement, product adoption, and brand loyalty.
  • Design and deliver clinical education programs, including live training, webinars, tradeshows, sponsorships, and digital resources.
  • Oversee event planning and execution, including budget management, logistics, and proper storage/maintenance of booth properties, in collaboration with an Events Consultant.
  • Manage the education budget to ensure efficient resource allocation and measurable ROI.
  • Build and implement development plans for the Technical Consulting team, ensuring in-lab training complements customer-facing initiatives.
  • Partner with inside sales, onboarding, and field sales teams to create scripts, tools, and job aids that support both education and sales objectives.
  • Maintain PACE CE Certification compliance, including management of advisory committees, content review, and documentation.
  • Serve as a clinical subject matter expert, delivering presentations, trainings, and event speaking engagements, while also assisting with escalated customer cases when required.
  • Produce and deliver original educational content such as presentations, webinars, blogs, and training resources, ensuring high standards of clinical and regulatory accuracy.
  • Act as the voice of the customer by establishing a feedback loop between clients, the lab, and education strategies.
  • Travel extensively (50%+) to support education, events, and technical team development efforts.

Qualifications

  • Certified Dental Technician (CDT) or equivalent dental technology credential strongly preferred.
  • Advanced implantology training or ICOI Mastership designation is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in dental education, training, or clinical support, ideally spanning both laboratory and manufacturer environments.
  • Proven track record in developing and delivering impactful educational content, managing professional events, and supporting commercial team development.
  • Strong expertise in implant workflows, removable prosthetics, and restorative dentistry.
  • Ability to independently create original content and manage complex programs with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills with strong project management abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to succeed in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with evolving priorities.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and to work hands-on in the lab with Technical Consultants and lab staff.
