Job Summary

A well-established dental laboratory in Augusta, Georgia, is seeking an experienced and highly proficient CAD/CAM Designer specializing in the digital design and production of full-arch hybrid cases. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience using 3Shape software and a strong background in implant workflows and fixed prosthodontics. This role requires exceptional technical skill, an in-depth understanding of dental anatomy, and a commitment to producing high-quality, clinically accurate restorations in a fast-paced environment.




📝 Key Duties and Responsibilities

The CAD/CAM Designer will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Design & Production:
  • Design complex full-arch hybrid design (such as screw-retained bridges, bars, and All-on-X prosthetics), crowns, bridges, and custom implant abutments using 3Shape dental CAD software.

  • Review and interpret doctors' prescriptions, impressions, and digital scan data (e.g., from Trios, iTero, etc.) to ensure the clinical and functional accuracy of all designs.

  • Manage the digital workflow, including scanning models (if required), importing/exporting digital files, and preparing designs for milling or 3D printing.

  • Quality Control & Collaboration:
  • Perform meticulous quality control checks throughout the design process to meet high aesthetic, functional, and fit standards.

  • Collaborate effectively with dentists, lab managers, and other technicians to resolve complex case planning issues and ensure timely production.

  • Maintain organized digital case files and documentation.

  • Equipment & Expertise:
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of various implant systems and components.

  • Understand and support downstream manufacturing processes, including milling, sintering, and 3D printing of Zirconia and other dental materials.

  • Stay current with the latest CAD/CAM technologies, dental materials, and restorative principles.

✨ Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a commercial dental laboratory setting, specifically designing implant or full-arch restorations.
  • Software Proficiency: Required expertise in 3Shape dental CAD software. Experience with other software (e.g., Exocad) is a plus.

  • Technical Knowledge:
  • Advanced knowledge of dental anatomy, terminology, and occlusion related to fixed prosthodontics.
  • Proficiency with digital impression workflows and intraoral scanner files.

  • Understanding of standard dental lab techniques and manufacturing processes.

  • Core Competencies:
  • Exceptional attention to detail and precision in digital design.

  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities for complex cases.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal) for internal collaboration and communication with clinical clients.
