About the Role

Are you an experienced RN who enjoys supporting patients over the phone while applying your clinical judgment to deliver compassionate, high-quality care? We’re seeking a Telephone Triage Nurse to join our in-office team in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you’ll ensure patients receive timely, accurate, and empathetic guidance while collaborating closely with clinical teams to support safe and effective care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments via phone, following established clinical protocols to determine symptom urgency.
• Accurately document calls and patient interactions in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Manage prescription refill requests, lab and radiology communications, and patient messaging in collaboration with clinical staff.
• Follow triage guidelines and standing orders to provide appropriate advice or escalate cases.
• Educate and reassure patients and caregivers with clear, compassionate communication.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina – required.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent pediatric nursing and/or telephone triage experience – required.
• Strong proficiency with EMR systems and multitasking in a clinical setting.
• Excellent communication skills and a calm, empathetic phone presence.
• Detail-oriented, reliable, and organized.
