Director of Cardiovascular Nursing Services

Rapidly Expanding Program | Visionary Surgical Leadership

This role sits at the center of a major cardiovascular service line expansion, backed by visionary surgical leadership and significant institutional investment. The Director will lead a rapidly growing Cardiovascular Nursing Program and partner closely with a world-renowned cardiothoracic surgeon driving the development and expansion of ECMO and Ventricular Assist Device (VAD/LVAD) programs.

Scope of Leadership

The Director will have operational, clinical, and strategic oversight of:

  • CV-ICU
  • Heart Failure Services
  • Medical-Surgical Units
  • New and expanding VAD/LVAD and ECMO programs

This position is ideal for a cardiovascular nursing leader who thrives in high-acuity environments and wants to help build, scale, and standardize advanced mechanical circulatory support programs.

Organization Overview

  • 500+ bed acute care facility
  • Level I Trauma Center
  • Robust tertiary and quaternary cardiovascular services

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or enrollment with completion required within 2 years
  • Current RN license (or license deemed acceptable by the applicable State Board of Nursing)
  • Hands-on leadership experience with VAD/LVAD programs
  • ECMO program experience
  • Minimum 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience
  • At least 2 years in a formal nursing leadership or management role

Preferred

  • Certification in a cardiovascular specialty or nursing administration

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A BSN (Master’s preferred or in progress)
  • 2+ years of leadership experience within cardiovascular services (Charge Nurse, Nurse Manager, Director level)
  • Direct leadership and operational experience supporting VAD/LVAD and ECMO programs
  • Proven ability to collaborate with surgeons, intensivists, and executive leadership in a complex, high-acuity environment
