Community Relations Representative – Hospice & Palliative Care


LOCATION: Helena, MT

JOB TYPE: Full-Time Permanent


We are seeking a compassionate, driven Community Relations Representative to promote awareness of hospice care and support individuals, families, and healthcare partners in understanding and accessing end-of-life services. This role focuses on education, relationship-building, and community outreach to ensure patients receive seamless, high-quality care.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet with potential patients and their families to explain hospice services, outline benefits, and ensure understanding of available support.
  • Achieve and exceed established admission and outreach goals.
  • Deliver presentations to both large and small audiences.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals, community organizations, and referral sources.
  • Collaborate closely with the Interdisciplinary Team to ensure patient needs are met with compassion and continuity.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the local market, including referral trends and growth opportunities.
  • Stay current with marketing best practices and share relevant insights with internal team members.
  • Execute marketing and promotional activities to support outreach goals.
  • Identify opportunities to educate the public on hospice services through community events and presentations.
  • Track and document prospecting, outreach activity, and educational initiatives in an organized and timely manner.
  • Organize and participate in educational events such as lunch-and-learns, community workshops, and informational sessions.
  • Understand and adhere to compliance standards relevant to hospice operations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation while following all privacy and security policies.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Prior account management, marketing, or sales experience preferred.
  • At least three years of healthcare experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in hospice, palliative care, or senior care is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate compassionately and tactfully with patients, families, and community members.
  • Strong communication, presentation, public relations, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrates organization, autonomy, flexibility, initiative, and strong follow-through.
  • Willingness to travel within a defined multi-community territory to support outreach, patient needs, and partnership development.
