Director of Nursing (DON) RN

Rehabilitation

M-F Day shift

7am-5pm


Role Overview:

The Director of Nursing oversees all nursing services, ensuring the delivery of safe, compassionate, and high-quality resident care while maintaining full regulatory compliance. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Leadership: Oversee resident assessments, care planning, and outcomes; collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to resolve quality-of-care concerns.
  • Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise nursing personnel (RNs, LPNs, CNAs); manage scheduling, performance evaluations, and professional development.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations (CMS); lead survey preparations, audits, and policy development.
  • Quality & Safety: Drive QAPI initiatives, oversee infection control, and manage risk management programs to maintain best practices in long-term care.

Requirements:

  •  Active Michigan Registered Nurse License (Verified by Nursys). - [REQUIRED] [DOCUMENT]
  • Associate Degree in Nursing. - [REQUIRED]
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. - [HIGHLY PREFERRED]
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification - [REQUIRED] [DOCUMENT]
  • Prior experience as a Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing - [REQUIRED]
  • At least 3 - 5 years of nursing experience. - [REQUIRED]
  • Infection Preventionist Certification (or obtain within 6 months of hire, free program offered through CMS) 
  • Experience in Matrix EMR. - [HIGHLY PREFERRED]
