Position Title: Research Portfolio Lead – Autoimmune/Genetic Disorders/Infectious Diseases

Position Location: This position is full time, on-site at Fort Detrick, Maryland. 


Daily Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as Technical Liaison/Award Manager for assigned research grants and cooperative agreements.
  • Conduct pre-award assessments, including overlap and foreign affiliation reviews
  • Monitor award progress and ensure compliance with reporting and clinical trial requirements.
  • Provides relevant subject matter expertise in support of technical progress reports and other reports and materials.
  • Support post-award evaluations and outcomes reporting
  • Participate in scientific reviews and team discussions
  • As needed, provides support to the Program Manager with planning, coordinating, integrating, programming, and budgeting processes.


Required Years of Experience (min):       

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in biomedical research or grant management with a focus in autoimmune/genetic disorders/infectious diseases research, scientific program management, or research administration.  


Required Degree/Certifications:           

  • PhD, MD, or equivalent degree in genetic science, infectious diseases, biomedical sciences, or a related discipline.  

                                 

Required Experience & Expertise in the following areas:

  • Demonstrated expertise in autoimmune/genetic disorders or infectious diseases.
  • Familiarity with federal biomedical research programs. 
  • Familiarity with NIH, DoD, or CDMRP-funded programs is preferred.
  • Excellent scientific writing, review, and editing skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and leadership abilities.
  • Prior involvement in peer review or programmatic review of research proposals.
  • Understanding of federal award and grants management processes.


Required Clearance:

  • Security/background check. Candidates with active security clearance are preferred.


Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: TBD
