We are seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Developer to join a global team of IT professionals. The position reports to an Enterprise Applications Manager and is responsible for BI report design in a team dedicated to delivering high profile analytics, reporting and dashboarding solutions to internal customers in an organization that values data and Business Intelligence systems. This position will have the opportunity to take part in all aspects of growing and enhancing a highly effective and modern IBM Cognos Analytics based solution, built on a strong enterprise data warehouse foundation. This individual will work with subject matter experts to examine and evaluate information requirements across the organization and explore data warehouse and source business system data to understand what is needed to meet those people’s needs using analytics. Working with end users they will have an important role to identify opportunities, recommend solutions, design and build the required BI reports, scorecard and dashboards to solve business problems. They will also deliver support and training to end users in the organization. This includes diving deep into data to identify solutions, and to provide new data-driven solutions which give insights into challenging business problems.

Here's what you will do on a day-to-day basis:

• Work with end users and experts to identify, create, design and deliver reports, dashboards, scorecards and cubes to meet business analytics needs.
• Collaborate on the creation and maintenance of reporting structures within the data warehouse and identify opportunities for new and enhanced data marts.
• Prepare and deliver recommendations or alternatives for improving processes in reporting systems across the organization.
• Assist with exploration and implementation of new technologies, including AI based solutions, to enable the future of analytics.

Here is the type of person we are looking for:

• 5+ years experience developing reports using IBM Cognos BI Report Studio, Dashboard and equivalent tools.
• Hands-on experience working directly with business subject matter experts and end users to understand and solve their analytics needs.
• Experience designing and developing creative and visually appealing reports and dashboards.
• Strong analysis and data exploration skills to understand complex business problems and data.
• Inquisitive nature, and strong business acumen, to work across a wide variety of topic areas and an ability make creative connections to identify and solve problems that were previous considered unsolvable.
• Exposure to Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne ERP system or data would be an asset.
• Cognos Transformer, Powerplay cubes (OLAP) or equivalent Business Intelligence OLAP/cube experience and SQL query skills an asset
• Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate within a distributed team across the organization.

Salary information: $88-121k depending on experience
