We are seeking a Payroll & Benefits Business Analyst (Contract) for a 6-12 month contract with high possibility of extension with hands-on expertise in Oracle Fusion and a focus on payroll costing and benefits processes. In this role, you will own the end-to-end requirements process, collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders to design and implement efficient payroll and benefits solutions. This position requires strong analytical skills, a client-focused mindset, and the ability to navigate complex environments with creativity and confidence.


Here is what you will do on a day to day basis:


  • Partner with business users to elicit, document, and validate payroll, benefits, and costing requirements.
  • Ensure alignment of requirements with overall business objectives and compliance standards.
  • Trace requirements to solution design, ensuring payroll costing and benefits configurations meet operational needs.
  • Collaborate on payroll costing strategies, ensuring accurate allocations, reconciliations, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Verify solution functionality through comprehensive testing and validation, partnering with business users to ensure accuracy.
  • Support the successful deployment of payroll and benefits solutions, providing guidance during go-live activities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor, leading discussions with clients to provide actionable recommendations and clear expectation management.
  • Confidently navigate challenging conversations, balancing client needs with system capabilities and limitations.
  • Develop innovative processes to streamline and enhance payroll and benefits workflows, moving clients from manual to automated solutions.
  • Leverage expertise in Oracle Fusion to recommend best practices and sustainable solutions.
  • Work closely with a cross-functional team of Business Analysts, Test Leads and 3rd party resources to align efforts across HR, Payroll, and Benefits.
  • Collaborate with the Organizational Change Management (OCM) team to support client adoption and transformation


Here is the type of person we are looking for:


  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion Payroll & Benefits, with specific expertise in payroll costing.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll processing, benefits administration, and related compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead client dialogues, offering practical solutions and managing expectations effectively.
  • Familiarity with unionized environments is an asset.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and deliver results with minimal supervision.
  • A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving challenging goals in a collaborative environment.
