Business Development Executive – SaaS Payments Solutions (Insurance Vertical)
Summary:
We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Executive to spearhead the growth of our SaaS-based payments management platform within the insurance industry. This role focuses on identifying and engaging insurance carriers, MGAs, TPAs, and InsurTech companies, leveraging deep consultative selling techniques to introduce tailored payment solutions that improve operational efficiency, compliance, and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:

Prospect and acquire new clients within the insurance sector, including carriers, agencies, and technology providers, primarily through self-sourced outreach (cold calling, industry networking, referrals, and social media engagement).

Develop and manage a sales pipeline focused on recurring revenue SaaS solutions for premium collections, claims disbursement, embedded payments, and reconciliation workflows.

Lead discovery meetings to assess client pain points in payments and billing, then align needs with platform capabilities to deliver value-based solutions.

Collaborate with product and marketing teams to tailor messaging and demos specific to insurance workflows and regulatory requirements.

Negotiate contracts and close deals with mid- to enterprise-sized insurance organizations, ensuring a seamless handoff to implementation and customer success teams.

Attend key industry events and conferences (e.g., InsurTech Connect, DIGIN) to build brand presence and uncover new opportunities.

Maintain accurate pipeline tracking and forecasting using CRM tools such as Salesforce.

Stay current on industry trends including insurance digital transformation, embedded finance, and evolving payment technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of experience selling SaaS platforms, preferably in payments, billing, or fintech, with a strong focus on the insurance industry.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and successfully navigating long enterprise sales cycles.
- Strong understanding of the insurance ecosystem and common pain points around payments, disbursements, and financial operations.
- Highly effective communicator with strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM tools (Salesforce preferred).
