Job Description: Head of AI & Automation

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid) Reports to: Managing Director / COO

Role Overview Our client is an investment firm at the forefront of innovation, operating at the intersection of private wealth and frontier technology. We are seeking a visionary Head of AI & Automation to lead the firm’s digital transformation. This is a strategic leadership role designed for an architect who can leverage Artificial Intelligence to optimize deal sourcing, streamline due diligence, and enhance engagement within a high-touch investor ecosystem.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building the "intelligent spine" of the firm—automating high-friction workflows and deploying proprietary AI tools that provide a competitive edge in identifying and supporting the next generation of breakthrough companies.

Key Responsibilities

• AI Strategy & Roadmap: Define and execute a firm-wide AI strategy that aligns with the mission of backing transformative technology and diverse leadership.
• Investment Intelligence: Build or integrate LLM-based tools to analyze proprietary data, automate market mapping, and enhance technical due diligence processes.
• Operational Automation: Design and deploy automated workflows across the entire investment lifecycle, from initial outreach to post-investment reporting.
• Investor Experience: Utilize AI and data automation to personalize communication and reporting for the firm’s network of private investors, ensuring a premium experience at scale.
• Systems Architecture: Evaluate and manage the firm’s technical stack, including CRM integrations, data enrichment tools, and generative AI platforms.
• Internal Literacy: Act as a bridge between technical possibilities and business needs, training the investment and operations teams on AI best practices and emerging tools.

Qualifications & Skills

• Professional Experience: 7+ years in technology leadership, with a proven track record in AI/ML, Data Engineering, or Fintech operations.
• Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with LLM orchestration, Python, and complex API integrations. Familiarity with the modern VC tech stack is highly preferred.
• Strategic Mindset: The ability to move beyond the hype and implement pragmatic, ROI-driven solutions that solve real business bottlenecks.
• Communication: Exceptional ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and high-net-worth partners.
• Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Venture Capital or Private Equity lifecycle, including the nuances of deal flow and portfolio management.
