What Our Client Needs Our client is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with expertise in fluids and thermal analysis to support the development of complex medical devices. This role will focus on modeling, simulation, and performance optimization from early concept through validation and manufacturing transfer.

Who You Are You are a technically strong and detail-oriented engineer who enjoys solving complex physical problems. You think analytically, work independently, and communicate clearly across teams. You are comfortable balancing deep technical work with project timelines and mentoring others.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead analysis and modeling of fluid flow, heat transfer, and mass transport in complex therapeutic systems
  • Develop and execute CFD, thermal, and multiphysics models to guide design decisions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate physics-based performance into product design
  • Design and conduct experiments to validate models, including test method development and data analysis
  • Support design and phase-gate reviews with quantitative analysis and technical justification
  • Translate modeling results into actionable design recommendations and performance insights
  • Mentor junior engineers on modeling techniques and best practices
  • Manage multiple analysis efforts across projects while maintaining technical rigor and timelines
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for stakeholders and partners

This role does not have routine travel or supervisory responsibilities.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (advanced degree preferred)
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, ideally in medical devices or regulated industries
  • Strong knowledge of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and thermodynamics
  • Experience with CFD and thermal simulation tools such as Ansys, COMSOL, or similar
  • Ability to develop analytical or reduced-order models alongside simulations
  • Experience with experimental testing, instrumentation, and data interpretation
  • Familiarity with regulated design environments and structured documentation practices
  • Strong analytical thinking and clear technical communication skills
