What Our Client Needs

Our client is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead senior engineering teams building enterprise SaaS products. This leader will drive delivery, strengthen engineering culture, and collaborate closely with product, architecture, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions.

You are an experienced engineering leader who builds strong teams and delivers complex software systems. You balance technical depth with leadership, coaching engineers while aligning execution with business goals. You value pragmatic architecture, thoughtful Agile practices, and clear collaboration across teams. You thrive in environments where influence, mentorship, and strategic thinking are required.


What You’ll Do

  • Lead engineering teams responsible for developing enterprise SaaS HR technology products
  • Guide Agile and Lean development practices to support iterative delivery and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Data Science, Design, and Quality teams to align technical execution with business priorities
  • Drive the full talent lifecycle including hiring, mentorship, performance management, and team development
  • Foster a healthy engineering culture focused on growth, accountability, and high performance
  • Partner with global engineering teams to implement architectural improvements and deliver coordinated outcomes
  • Support modernization initiatives and pragmatic architectural evolution across the platform
  • Encourage the thoughtful use of AI-assisted engineering to improve development velocity and quality


Travel: Occasional travel required up to four times per year for in-person collaboration events.


What You’ll Need

  • 15+ years of engineering experience
  • Experience leading teams building enterprise-scale SaaS products
  • Experience hiring, mentoring, and developing engineering talent
  • Experience working with product-line architectures and distributed engineering teams
  • Strong knowledge of modern software development patterns and practices
  • Experience applying Agile and Lean principles in practical delivery environments
  • Experience with legacy system modernization strategies
  • Ability to create clear and concise technical documentation and diagrams when needed
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and lead through influence across teams


What They Offer

  • Salary range of $170,000 to $210,000 annually based on relevant experience, plus bonus eligibility

Please Note: This role is available for remote work only in the following U.S. states: Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York State (excluding NYC and Long Island), Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Wisconsin. If you reside outside of these locations, you will not be considered for this role.
