What Our Client Needs:

Our client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their research and development team. This role will focus on the design, development, and optimization of complex medical devices, materials, and combination products from concept through manufacturing transfer. The ideal candidate will bring strong CAD and mechanical design skills, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for developing innovative healthcare technologies that improve patient outcomes.

You are a motivated and detail-oriented mechanical engineer who thrives in fast-paced, cross-functional environments. You enjoy problem-solving, collaborating with other technical disciplines, and working on complex systems that make a real impact. You bring a strong foundation in mechanical design and an eagerness to grow your expertise in regulated medical device development.


What You’ll Do:

  • Contribute to the mechanical design, fabrication, and analysis of complex therapeutic systems, assemblies, and components using CAD and simulation tools.
  • Collaborate with electrical, software, systems, and manufacturing engineers to ensure seamless product development.
  • Develop prototype components, systems, and subsystems, and conduct testing and analysis.
  • Participate in design and phase gate reviews and assist in root cause analysis.
  • Ensure designs comply with design requirements, regulatory standards (such as ISO 13485), and quality system procedures.
  • Manage multiple projects, balancing technical priorities, timelines, and requirements.
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.


This position requires minimal travel and has no supervisory responsibilities.


What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 0–4 years of relevant industry experience in mechanical design or product development.
  • Proven expertise in CAD and solid modeling (SolidWorks or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of materials, fabrication methods, and manufacturing/injection molding technologies.
  • Familiarity with engineering simulation tools such as FEA or CFD.
  • Understanding of regulated design environments and standards (ISO 13485, MDR, ASE, AS9100).
  • Ability to work independently, analyze data rigorously, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
