About the Job: As the Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Supporting the machining operations by using computer assisted design/drafting (SolidWorks/CAD) equipment and software to develop designs.
• Create and revise production drawings (detail and assembly drawings).
• Makes final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole structure or project.
• Sketches rough layout of machine and computes angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radii, clearances, tolerances, leverages, and location of holes.
• Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
• Drafts detailed multi-view drawings of machine and products.
• Draws finished designs from sketches.
• Responsible for setting up and maintaining an organized file system for Production Drawings.
• Ability to interpret technical data such as specifications, engineering drawings and calculations in order to complete engineering tasks to meet a customer's projects scope.
• Communicate with QA, Sales and Manufacturing regarding new and revised prints.
• Participate in meetings with vendors and customers as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• 5+ years CAD experience required
• Project management skills leading multiple concurrent projects
• Knowledge of machine design and product production required 
• Must be able to design automation equipment from specifications

Compensation:

$85,000-$100,000 based on experience
