About the Job: The Facilities and Safety Manager is responsible for implementing and enforcing policies to ensure the facilities’ safety, operations, risk, and regulatory compliance needs. Must be able to champion the safety culture while conforming to manufacturing standards and regulations. Ensure plant-level programs, procedures, and systems are developed, implemented, and sustained to meet compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
- Monitor the removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards.
- First POC for accident reporting and root cause analysis processes.
- Train employees regarding safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Inspect the facilities to identify safety risks and monitor compliance and safety procedures.
- Comply with health and safety regulations and ensure necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines.
- Manage participation in Occupational Safety Administration inspections, provide inspectors with appropriate documents and identify safety measures.
- Prepare and schedule training for emergency procedures, workplace safety, and related topics.
- Oversee environmental health and safety functions throughout the manufacturing facilities.
- Ensure material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
- Manage projects to be completed on time and within budget.
- Be an advisor regarding safety projects, tasks, and operations.
- Lead and document monthly safety committee meetings and build employee relationships.
- Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action measures.
- Assist in conducting and reporting audits, inspections, and compliance protocols.
- Foster partnerships and cooperation with Human Resources, Quality and Plant Operations.
- Oversee the facility’s structural integrity like HVAC, utilities, and fire detection systems.
- Manage Planned Preventative Maintenance schedules, ensure equipment reliability, minimize production and operational downtime.
- Direct the facility’s maintenance, evaluate needed personnel and external contractors while maintaining budgets and business partner and vendor relationships.
- Manage facility upgrades, changes, and capital improvement projects.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate’s degree and 5+ years Safety & Facilities operations experience. In lieu of a college degree; 8+ years of direct Safety & Facilities management experience.
- 5+ proven years of industrial leadership abilities and management.
- ISO, OSHA certifications are a plus.
- Creative problem solver, planning and excellent customer service skills.
- Working knowledge in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with OSHA and safety and health requirements.
Salary: $85,000–$110,000 base salary
